Position Summary

As the Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for supporting and installing Residential and Commercial Starlink Satellite Internet, Residential and Commercial Cellular Amplification Systems and DAS. The Technician will also be responsible for supporting all Mercury Communications, LLC low voltage commercial projects.

  • Properly install Starlink terminal on customer roof, pole, or fascia of home.
  • Properly route cable inside the home and seal all penetrations properly.
  • Install necessary gang/media boxes.
  • Activate unit and provide a basic overview to the client.
  • Read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and installation guides.
  • Install and secure cables; mount hardware as described in drawings and notes.
  • Place, cut, prepare, terminate, and secure copper, coaxial, and optical fiber to their respective connectors, and install splitters based on designs.
  • Terminate, test, and troubleshoot cables and antennas.
  • Accurately report status, material usage, and expenses.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to travel as needed; must possess a valid driver’s license. Company vehicle provided.

Definitions

Pulling: Pulling is defined as routing cable through conduit, above ceilings, through and inside of walls, and between and through floors as per project specifications.

Cable Installation (CI): Cable installation is the building of pathway, pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling of various cables that include, but are not limited to: twisted pair, coax, Category 5, Category 6.

Rack & Stack (R&S): Rack and stack is the staging, unboxing, mounting/installation, connecting, and powering up to bring electronic components and/or devices online and into functional production through working with technical personnel.


The Ideal Candidate Should Possess the Following

  • One year of applicable low voltage experience.
  • Positive, motivated attitude.
  • Ability to learn.
  • Ability to climb ladders and be comfortable in both high and confined spaces.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Must pass drug and background checks.
  • Must be able to secure access to critical Department of Defense facilities.
  • Must be able to secure a U.S. passport for potential overseas travel.
  • Comfortable working on occupied job sites including healthcare, government, and commercial facilities.

Desired Certifications (not required, but strongly preferred):

  • DCJS 30E – Electronic Security Core Subjects (Entry Level)
  • DCJS 35E – Electronic Security Technician
  • BICSI Installer I, Installer II, or Technician
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification

Job Responsibilities

  • Residential installation of in-home services.
  • CI (Cable Installation) of structured cabling infrastructure in residential and commercial environments.
  • Route cable through conduit, above ceilings, and between floors as per project specifications.
  • Complete projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner.
  • Pulling, terminating, and testing of fiber optic, coax, and datacom cables.
  • Dressing/labeling of cables.
  • Attend multiple company-hosted and manufacturer-led training sessions on various devices and techniques.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications (company sponsored).
  • Installation of cabling support structures (cable tray, J-hooks, ladder rack, etc.).
  • Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, team members, behavior, and appearance.
  • R&S (Rack and Stack) of network equipment and/or devices in a commercial environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Weekly pay – direct deposit if accepted part-time/full-time.
  • Travel costs paid by company (lodging, travel, and per diem).
  • Company vehicle available during work assignments.

We are looking for an energetic individual that can provide technical support for our company, employees, and customers including devices, basic networking, applications, and communication systems. The help desk technician would also assist with the deployment of software and hardware for a variety of systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide first level technical support for our customers and employees
• Respond to IT support help desk telephone calls, email and technical requests
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, mobile devices, and printers
• Able to work independently and remotely
• Update internal department documents and procedures
• Assist with updating and maintaining help desk ticketing system
• Troubleshoot workstations in Windows 10 environment
• Monitoring remote networks and workstations
• Build / fix PC’s and Macs
• Install PC’s
• Driver/bios updates
• Reload Windows / backup –with focus on imaging
• Malware removal
• Driver updates
• PC software installs
• TCP/IP – Networking level I proficient
• Office365/Exchange experience
• Drive/Data recovery
• Mobile device support

Position Requirements:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Customer-oriented and even-tempered
• Advanced experience troubleshooting Microsoft Outlook is a plus
• Able to travel to customer’s office when needed (per diem provided)
• Good understanding of computer systems, networks and mobile devices
• Knowledgeable in installing virtual computers
• Experience with Datto/Kaseya Platforms
• Experience with Data Recovery Platforms
• Exchange, O365, Google Platforms

Desired Skills & Experience:

Minimum 2-year technical experience, Helpdesk/Network Technician Experience, Basic knowledge of Apple products
Physical Demands: Work in office team environment with others, Able to work independently
Experience: Technical Support 2 year, Help Desk 1 year
